The Golf Club is situated on the A7 just as you leave the town heading south towards Hawick.

Selkirk welcomes visitors to the course.      You can turn up and play at virtually anytime during the week and also on Sunday.      Although the course is not closed to visitors on Saturdays the membership play competitions on that day, and therefore the tee is booked up until at least midday and then from 1pm until 4pm in the afternoon.     On Thursdays the course is reserved for ladies competition from 4pm onwards.     On occasions when major open or domestic competitions are being played the course is closed to other visitors.

The dress code at Selkirk is very relaxed and provided you are wearing a top and trousers or shorts, with appropriate footwear, you will be welcome.     Golf shoes are allowed in the foyer, changing room and toilets, but not in the lounge.

As Selkirk Golf Club does not employ any clubhouse staff we operate an honesty box, and visitors are required to follow the instructions on the green fee register which is situated in the foyer of the clubhouse.

Club member and former Scottish Amateur, Walker Cup and multi-international Champion, the late Dick Smith, maintained that although Selkirk was only a nine-hole course, it has a testing layout, fine quality hill turf fairways and greens of a fine texture.      With heather & gorse to catch the errant shot Selkirk still offers the modern golfer a fine test of golf.
