Border Safeguard Quaich - 16.9.17

The Border Safeguard Quaich competition took place on Saturday, 16th September, 2017.      A disappointing total of only 34 members took part, but the winner with a very good score of 71 (6) 65 was Chris Kemp.      Second on a score of 72 (6) 66 (bih) was our worthy Captain Rodney Pow, followed on the same net score by his playing partner of the day Norman Purves on 77 (11) 66.      Only two contestants managed to score a hole in 2 at the nominated holes and these were Neil Beaumont at the 6th hole, and Les Rutherford at the 18th hole, each of them receiving £5 for their efforts.       The entry fee was £3, making a total of £102 from the 34 entrants, and with £90 being paid out in cash to the winners and £10 for the two’s winners, this left £2 for the contingency fund.
