Round-up of other Competitions - 14.10.18

A number of annual competitions came to a conclusion this month and these were as follows:-
(a) The Alexander Quaich was won by Tomas Bell who beat Les McAllister in the Final.
(b) The Brown Cup for the best three score aggregate in the Monthly Medals, with a total score of 191 and two shots ahead of his 
nearest rival, was Graeme Bell, his three net scores being 60; 65 and 66.     Second was John Hume on a score of 193.
(c) The Order of Merit awarded for the number of points accumulated during thirteen of the major competitions of the year was won by John Hume on 37, who breasted the tape only one point ahead of his nearest rival Les Rutherford.
(d) The Gents Net Eclectic Shield for the lowest net score recorded at each hole in the majority of single competitions during the year was won by Rodney Pow who recorded a very creditable net score of 47. He was closely followed by a bevy of six other players, all on net 49.
(e) The Gents Gross Eclectic was won by Stephen Henderson on a gross score of 51, only one point ahead of his three nearest rivals.
(a) The Final of the Summer Foursomes competition has been delayed and will now take place of Saturday, 20th October at 8am, just before the Match Secretary's Choice competition.
