Centenary Cup - 8.6.19

The Centenary Cup sponsored by Jim Farrell was played on Saturday, 8th June, 2019, and a total of 37 members took part.     The weather was generally wet for most of the day with light rain, and with light winds.     The format this year was stableford, and the man of the moment who had a very good score of 39 points was Iain Clark, this being the second time in succession he has won this competition.     He was followed by Greig Temple with a very creditable 37 points, and in third place was Gerald Beggs on 36 points (bih).     Four players managed to get a hole in 2 at the nominated holes, and these were Alistair McVie at the 6th, with Donald Ballantyne, Bruce Bett and Colin Finlay performing this feat at the 18th, each of them receiving £5 for their efforts.     The entry fee was £3 making a total of £111 from the 37 entrants; £90 was paid out in cash to the winners and £20 to the two’s winner, with £1 going to the contingency fund.
