Holiday 3-Man Texas Scramble - 27.7.19

A holiday 3-Man Team Texas Scramble using a stableford points scoring system was played on Saturday, 27th July, 2019, when a group of ten teams were entered.     Unfortunately due to heavy showers of rain and some water on the greens in mid morning four of the teams already on the course decided to abandon their rounds.     Three teams remained on the course and as there was a respite in the heavy rain showers, the greens remained playable, and they continued with their rounds.     By late morning the weather imroved and the course became almost perfect for playing golf.     One of the late morning teams decided not to start, and despite the perfect conditions none of the afternoon teams turned up.     Despite the weather, the scoring was generally very good, and the winners on the day with a score of 42 points was the team of Les Rutherford, Peter Henderson and George Grant.     Second on a score of 39 points were Robert J. Wilson, Gerald Beggs and Alan Brown.    None of the teams managed a two at the nominated holes.     The entry fee was £15 per team, making a total of £105 from the seven teams who took part, and this sum was paid out to the winners, with the contingency fund square.
