Selkirk Rosebowl - 3.8.19

The Selkirk Rosebowl competition was played on Saturday, 3rd August, 2019, and an entry of 16 teams took part.     Heavy fog in the morning delayed the start until about 9am, but it cleared shortly thereafter and the weather became very good with sunshine and very light winds.     The scoring was good with only ten shots separating the first and last teams.     Ian Wilkie and Tom Welsh
had the best score with a 63; Thomas Andrew and Ranald Wilkie were second on 64(bih); and in third place also with a score of 64(2nd bih) were Les Rutherford and Peter Henderson.     Only two teams managed a two at the nominated holes and these were Gerald Beggs and Robert J. Wilson at the 6th, with Les Rutherford and Peter Henderson managing the same feat at the 18th, each team receiving £16 for their efforts.     The entry fee was £10 per team, making a total of £160 from the 16 teams; £120 was paid out in cash to the winners, and with £32 going to the two's winners, this left £8 for the contingency fund.
