Andrew Hill Challenge Cup - 26.8.19

The Andrew Hill Challenge Cup, which had been postponed from the previous Wednesday due to inclement weather, was eventually played on Monday, 26th August, 2019, on a lovely summers evening.     In a rare return to its original concept the teams consisted of a Lady; Gent and Junior member playing a texas scramble over nine holes with a shotgun start.     Six teams took part in the competition and the winners with a score of net 25.4 was the team of Marjorie Rae; Peter Henderson and Hamish Scott, followed by Sheila Irvine; John Wilson & Milly Scott on net 25.9, and in third place were Moira Wilson; Jackson Cockburn and Cammy Smith on net 26.5.     The entry fee was £3 per person, making a total of £54; the winners received £24, the runners-up £15, and third £9, with the remaining £6 being donated to the Doddie Weir Foundation.     This event was a great success and everyone had an enjoyable evening.     A very special thank you to Alistair Scott who has put in a power of work organising the junior section, and also to the ladies for their support.
