The above competition was held on Saturday, 1st May, and a total of sixty members took part. They enjoyed perfect conditions, with long sunny spells and light winds. The winner of the Cup, with a very good score of 85(21)64(bih) was David Beveridge; second with the same net score of 71(7)64 was Alistair McVie; and third on a score of 87(22)65 was Dante Brugnoni. Fourth place was secured by Peter Henderson on a score of 76(9)67(bih) and in fifth was Rodney Pow on 73(6)67. Prizes of £45; £35; £25; £15 and £10 were awarded to these winners. Four members managed to score in two at the nominated holes and these were Callum Anderson and Robert Falconer at the 6th hole, with Finlay Amos and Colin Robinson managing to achieve the same score at the 18th hole, each of them receiving the sum of £8 for their efforts. The entry fee was £3, making a total of £180 from the sixty entrants, £130 was paid out to the winners and with £32 being paid to the 2’s winners, this left £18 for the contingency fund.
