Holiday 3-Man Texas Scramble

Posted on August 1, 2021 | by Peter Henderson

This competition was played on Saturday, 31st July, in reasonably good conditions, and although the afternoon players did experience some light showers, it was fairly warm with light winds. Unfortunately the computer could not be configured to record the correct handicaps for the the teams, which should have been 1/6th of the combined handicaps of the three members of the team. This had to be done manually by the Match Secretary and therefore the results recorded on the app and website are not correct. The winners on the day were the team of Neil Beaumont; Jonathan Brady and Andy Raphael on a precise score of 63(9.21)53.79. Second was the team of Bruce Bett; Donald Ballantyne and Gordon MacGregor on 60(3.65)56.35, and third was the team of Ryan Cottrell; Guy Mallin and Callum Anderson on 68(11.06)56.94. These teams received prizes of £60; £45 and £30 respectively. The full results will be posted on the competition noticeboard in the clubhouse. The nominated two’s holes were the 6th and 18th and six of the teams managed this feat, with the teams of (1) B. Macdonald, Brugnoni and Smith; (2) Beggs, Wilson and Brown; and (3) Wood, Inglis and Reid holing out in 2 at the 6th and the teams of (4) Kinghorm, H. Macdonald and McVie; (5) Brady, Raphael and Beaumont and (6) MacGregor, Ballantyne and Bett achieving the same feat at the 18th. Each of these teams received the princely sum of £6 for their efforts. A total of twelve teams took part in the competition and at an entry fee of £15 per teams this amounted to the sum of £180 for distribution. The winners received a total of £135 and with £36 going to the two’s winners, this left £9 for the contingency fund.
